2I definitely understand what it feels like wanting to provide for yourself and your family, but not having the luxury of getting an outside job, if only everyone can work from home!

Well, what I know now could have saved me several headaches a few years ago, so I only want to help those not make the same mistakes I did. I recommend highly that you visit http://www.wahm.com, its a site for others just like you and me looking for something reputable to do from home. If you have the time and energy, you can make a decent living depending on your skills. I myself realized the only way to survive this thing they call life is to create and manage something of my own, which is what I’m doing now. Its a business, so it requires investment, commitment, and patience, but the rewards highly outweigh the setbacks. If you’re interested in that, just contact me or view my profile. Its all about “service”.
Hope this helps,
Trhonda

3That would depend on your skills. If you have a valuable, in demand skill, that can be used remotely, companies may be willing to accomodate your needs to do it from home. The people I know that do it are mostly programmers or sales managers covering a territory far from the home office.
Owning a computer or a telephone is not a skill or a rare commodity, and thus it isn’t something an organisation needs to pay good money for.
Sometimes, people already working for an organization are able to negotiate full or partial work-from-home arrangements as their needs, or more important, the organizations needs change. Still, these are generally people with in-demand personal and/or technical skills.

sorry to hear you are a single mother, but if you get a “real” job you would be able to afford to work and pay for a sitter.
