I am a new entrant in the design industry. I need to give my prices to a client for a graphic design project for t-shirt prints. I have no idea about the pricing systems and the best system? In any circumstances if the client is willing to pay per design, what should be the charge? on hourly basis? etc.

1short answer – whatever you think you can get
long answer – draft up a propsal before you do ANYTHING. This is so that you and the client know (and have a record of) exactly what the end result will be. Often clients change things (or worse, want to add things) as the project progresses. Figure out how long you think it will take to do the shirts as it is in the propsal, then double it. Factor changes, meeting time, project costs (buying stock images for example) and design time into your price and charge accordingly, giveing the client a cost breakdown. Charge additionally for any changes not in the propsal.
