i want to work from home,i applied in a site for freelance translation but whenever i apply for a job i don t get respond, because i never had any experience in translation before.but i worked as an english tutor so i m well sure of my ability in grammar, spelling and punctuation.i heard that there are companies and manga scanlating projects would ask for proofreaders,i can also work as proofreader for novels, which i would prefer to work at.
can someone give me some company or scanlation groups names or sites that would ask for a proofreaders?
p.s.
is it ok if i accept or decline the type of work that i wouldn t like to work in?i mean in manga there are gay or lesbian comics and i don t want to work in these kind of things,so do i have the right to choose what kind of work i would like to applay for?

1Yes I think that you can accept or decline the type of work that you take but only if you are freelancing.

2try going into google under proofreading. i came across a lot of useful info there. there was one for proofreading jobs but a lot of them were for australia however i didn’t search for other countries but further down the list there are probably a number.
there were also a number of other sites mentioned which could be useful.
most proofreading is not just about grammar etc but also involves spelling and you have made a couple in your question so proofread it and see if you can pick them out i found at least 5.
