I have a friend who works for a local news station and does freelance work on the side. One of my church friends asked if he could film the Christmas play and how much to offer him. I have no idea how much to pay him! Any freelancers out there who can help? Anyone ever hired a freelance photographer (videographer) before? Thanks!

1MOST FREELANCES HAVE THERE OWN PRICE SCHEDULE AND WILL TELL YOU WHAT THEY EXPECT .

2$300 for the shoot may be a good starting point. If it is not enough, he will let you know. If you want him to edit the raw footage, that will cost more.
He may have to rent the camera and video editing studio as well, so plan on paying his expenses.
BTW, he would be considered a videographer as opposed to a photographer know to use only still cameras, 35 mm, DSLR, medium format and view cameras
