There is a job suitable with you on freelancer. But to adapt to many C/C++ project. You should improve your programming skill.
Such as study deeply about Visual C++ 2008 to make dramatical GUI for your application.
1.Studying Visual C++ 2008.
2.Studying how to make good GUI and Interacting with user.
3.Depend on what aspect you want to work on, you should studying about DataBase , or Win API relevant to your job.

Depends of the job environment, requirements and your responsabilities, C++ is not an easy language because it’s a general purpose language, with it you can do any kind of program or application with it.
If you’re going to be in a project where the skill level needed is not so high or your responsibilities are not too big you could try it, learn from the team and all,
but you should always try to get the tasks you feel you can accomplish or get a good project partner, try to use the good practices and if you don’t know always ask, “there is no such thing as stupid questions”, try to use some help from your compiler community, http://www.cppreference.com/wiki/, http://www.cplusplus.com/doc/tutorial/ or even http://www.thecodeproject.com can help you.
You should consider at least learn about your target platform (and if you’re unlucky enough to be programming for windows you should start considering learning C++.NET, it’s somewhat for starters) or reading some books like the Petzold or Thinking in C++.
By the way if you meant MFC (Microsoft Foundation Classes) i assume that you’re another windows programmer, don’t bother to learn it at least you really need to use it, try faster alternatives, like Win Forms (C++.NET) it’s too easy (like the Borland VCL’s) and .NET is the successor for Win32.
